Geoff Edwards

Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Educator

A graduate of Tai Sophia Institute (now MUIH at University of Maryland), Geoff maintains a healing arts practice,  Nu Healing Arts, and facilitates workshops on the common uses of local herbs, their cultivation, expressive art therapies for mental health, and community health and wellness. He enjoys teaching herb identification, preparation, and the art of formulating herbal medicines. Geo attracted Beverly when he revealed to her his, “Healing Arts Garden”, and ever expanding curation of perennial herbs.

Ayo Ngozi Drayton

Herbalist, Educator

An herbalist, artist, and cultural worker committed to documenting traditional herbal practices of the African diaspora and making evidence-based herbal education accessible to all. A longtime instructor at Wild Ginger Herbal Center, Ayo contributes to courses at the Herbal Academy and Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and teaches at conferences and herbal programs in the US and abroad. Ayo is based in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where she owns a small herbal business, The Creative Root.

Andrea Macintosh

Attorney, Community Herbalist

For over 20 years, Andrea has worked on immigration issues impacting refugees and other migrants seeking humanitarian protection and other immigration benefits in the United States.  She currently serves as a senior policy advisor in the federal government on matters impacting the civil rights and civil liberties interests of immigrants.  Having worked closely with individuals who have experienced trauma and displacement, Andrea is passionate about supporting people in accessing their innate capacity to heal through connection with Spirit, nature, and community. 

As a mother of two, Andrea practices folk medicine in her home, pulling from Appalachian and Caribbean traditions passed down by grandmothers on both sides of the family.  Intentional about creating spaces that nurture the mind, body, and spirit, Andrea has curated a healing garden at her home in Silver Spring, MD, where she grows a variety of tropical and medicinal plants that she is eager to share with anyone who stops by.

Dr. Nana Mo Dixon

PhD, LDN, CNS
Experimental Nutritionist, Community Herbalist 

Currently a senior policy analyst at the FDA, Dr. Dixon is a certified & licensed nutrition specialist (herbalist) at Balance BioNutritional.  A native of Bronx, NYC, Dr. Dixon developed a global trading brand of workshops n Food Protection : HACCP Food Safety & SURE Food Defense.  He holds a BS in Psychology (Florida A&M University), an MS in Community Nutrition, and a PhD in Experimental Nutrition. (Howard University).  A community herbalist he learned traditions from his parents, and travels regularly  to Ghana with others to study ancestral and traditional healing.

Sheila Brown

Speaker, Author, Healthy Eating Coach

Sheila Brown, JD is the founder of President of Queendomqare.com, an online wellness shop offering custom products for to support women along their self-care journey. Her mission is to help women embrace self-care as lifestyle.

Her multifaceted approach to wellness employs the use of plants, herbs, essential oils, and nature's most basic elements: air, fire, earth and water or "A.F.E.W." tools to heal.

Sheila is a self-taught wellness practitioner who believes that we are entitled to experience divine health but also recognizes that world conditions require us to work hard and strive to attain it.
