Hello and Welcome to the Plant Medicine TV Show:  Root, Leaf, & Blossoms.

2014 was a year I’ll never forget.  After discovering a lump on my left breast, I received a diagnosis of an aggressive form of breast cancer. To say I was shocked was putting it mildly.  I was in my late 40’s and remember feeling sadness that my walk on this earth could be coming to a close more quickly than I ever expected.  I spent the next two years going through the debilitating rounds of chemo, radiation, and surgery.  Cancer is a humbling experience, literally sucking the life out of a person.  While I won the initial battle with the disease, the chemotherapy and radiation treatments left devastating effects on my body. I have made it a lifestyle change to continue to learn about natural remedies that heal while leaving minimal negative impact.

The following year I left for California to explore several natural healing modalities. I started doing my own research and was exposed to numerous plants with medicinal values. I quickly learned that what I put in my body could make a big difference in my survival odds.

Come join me as I wander the world of plant medicine and their remedies.  I’ll be talking to old friends and teachers who have put me on the path and discovering new folks who are doing amazing work with plants.  We’ll look at gardens, make healthy plant-based food, and learn from those who have dedicated their lives to healing.

This journey towards better health through plant medicine is a continuous life-long trek.  While not all of the trip has been roses, I thoroughly enjoy my new relationship with plants and the peace I find being in their world.

It’s a crazy situation not knowing whether you’re going to live or die, and I was glad for a Faith that made me believe that it had to be OK whatever the final outcome.

Here’s to dedicating some space to thriving through healthy living.
